About CRC

Chilworth Riding Club was formed in 1978 by a small band of enthusiastic riders based in Chilworth, near Southampton.   Members are located in a fairly wide area around the northern and western edges of Southampton, Romsey, down the Waterside, into the New Forest and north to Salisbury.

The club offers a wide range of activities; training, competitions, fun rides and social evenings.

Training is provided at very reasonable rates using a variety of trainers such as Heather Ashley,  Olivia Oakeley, Stephen Way and Cindy Sims who are positive and encouraging. Several training sessions are held each month for both flatwork and jumping.

​

As an affiliated riding club, we also take part in all the riding club area qualifiers and have had a good degree of success, regularly qualifying teams for the British Riding Clubs National Championships.

We have held club social evenings that have included talks on foot balance and lameness in the horse, equine dentistry, sports psychology, physiotherapy and horse and rider biomechanics, and we hope to start introducing these again soon.

Most of all, the club prides itself as being friendly and approachable, encouraging novice riders and supporting the more advanced.
