CHILWORTH RIDING CLUB COMPETITION RULES

The following rules are applicable to all competitions organised and run by Chilworth Riding Club unless specifically stated otherwise.

1          The competition will be run in accordance with the British Riding Club current years rules.

2         Chilworth Riding Club, the competition sites land owners, and persons acting on their behalf do not accept any liability for any loss, accident, or damage to any person, animal, vehicle or goods occurring in connection with this event. It is a condition of entry that each competitor indemnifies the organiser against any claim.

3          Everyone mounted, whether a competitor or not, must wear a hard hat with the harness properly adjusted and fastened.  Failure to do so will incur elimination. Hats must meet and be in accordance with the British Riding Clubs required standards.  When Show Jumping it is strongly recommended that a body protector is worn.  It is also recommended that when jumping on damp/wet grass that studs are inserted into the horses/ponies shoes.

4          All horses and ponies must be inoculated against Equine Influenza and have a current and valid ‘flu certificate.  If any horse or pony is considered to be unwell and/or with a contagious illness, the organisers hold the right to request its immediate removal from the showground.

5          All dogs MUST be kept on a lead at all times. Dogs must not be left unattended tied to vehicles.

6          Any objection should be submitted to the Secretary in writing within 30 minutes of the incident with a deposit of £10, refundable if the objection is sustained.

7          Entries close at the time stated in the relevant schedule.  The Organisers reserve the right to refuse late entries.  No entries will be accepted without the correct fee.  NO REFUNDS OR TRANSFER of entries will be permitted without the production of a veterinary or doctor’s certificate.

8          In the event of cancellation, entry fees will be refunded minus a £2 administration charge per rider.

9          Any times of classes have been given as a guide only and may be subject to change on the day.  You should always be prepared to ride earlier than the stated time.

10        The Organisers reserve the right to alter classes, cancel any show or refuse entry without explanation.

11        We are lucky to be able to use our venues please assist us in keeping then clean and tidy.  Please ensure you pick up droppings and DO NOT MUCK OUT TRAILERS/LORRIES on site.

12      In the interests of health and safety, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the Organisers and/or Stewards at all times.
